Free Your Mind

Back to school
Today was my first day back to school. From first impressions my psych teacher is no joke. He said that phones need to be off not just on vibrate. He also said that we may have no more than two absences in the semester or it will affect our grade, and being late or leaving early, even answering the cell phone outside of class all count as an absence. Four absences, count as a fail. However, we do not have homework, only three test, one final, and one term paper. Also all test are multiple choice, which can be a blessing and a curse, depending on how he words his test. I have learned over the years that multiple choice can be tricky. Anyway, I know for most that are reading this blog, that this may be boring you, but then again this blog is named free your mind, meaning my mind and this is what subject I happen to be thinking about right now. So continuing to free my mind, on to my second teacher. She seems like she will be kind of cool. She doesn't mind the cell phones on vibrate, except during tests. She is new to Pierce College so doesn't really know how things are done, which is not really a bad thing because I really don't like their protocols, anyway. However she does give homework and lots of it, which I do not like. For those of you that know me, know that I am LAZY, notice the capitals! So with all that said I will do my part in order for this semester not to be too stressful. As for home life that is a blog for another day. Just kidding, it is an environment of support because everyone is in school, well will be as of September 13th, which is great. I actually heard some words that I haven't heard in a long time "Do you have any homework?" That made me smile.

LOVE'S STRENGTH
Love can be so confusing sometimes. You know that you love someone but it isn't always clear why you love that person. The pull of love is so strong it can make someone commit homicide or even suicide. This is so well depicted on shows like Snapped and in the classics like Romeo and Juliet and Othello. True love is beautiful and ugly, sweet and spicy, happiness and sadness, and every adjective and antonym you can imagine. Someone once said "Love is insanity" and my God I didn't know how right they were until I found real love. Yes that's right, me Toni, I am actually in love! Wow. For anyone who knows me, knows just how amazing that statement truly is. I am wondering what happened to the fairy tales that were told to me as a child. Boy meets girl, or in my case, Girl meets girl, they kiss, fall in love, and live happily ever after. Never any disagreements, never any stress. I guess that is why they are called fairy tales, cause the reality is that love is easy but relationships take work. That is probably why love is so strong, why it has to be strong, because the work is worth it. To finally want to give up your last name and take the name of the one you love and become one. This is such an amazing feeling that once you find it you will be willing to walk over hot coals, move heaven and earth, to keep that love. I know I am! Another funny thing about love is that although you somehow lived before you fell in love you can not imagine living without it once you have it. The merging of two souls IS hard work and if anyone says different, they are delusional, but just like anything else that is important in life, hard work pays off. Like a great football player once said, When you feel like giving up just look up and know YOU CAN MAKE IT.
